Spain defeat Italy on penalties at Euro 2008
Trivia: Spain had lost a quarter-final at a major tournament on penalties on this exact date: June 22. Plus they had never before beaten Italy at either the World Cup or European Championships and on three previous occasions over the last 22 years.

Udhay Shankar's Sree SantoshGarments Private Ltd. bagged the orders from a textile firm in UK for making 1.2 million t-shirts for the EURO Cup 2008.
Their past history:-
"In 1986, when Uday Shankar and his elder brother C. Chandramohan lost their jobs in a spinning mill, they started their own knitwear factory, with a meagre investment of Rs.100,000 and just four workers. Today the two brothers, both school dropouts, own a well-equipped spinning mill, dyeing and tailoring units and their company notched a turnover of Rs.966 million in the last fiscal."
